Prescott Courier, Prescott, Arizona Friday, June 23, 1899 Charles Bauer, aged 59, died at Fort Whipple yesterday of cancer of the stomach. He came here with the Eleventh infantry, and was a retired Army musician. He was for a time leader of the Prescott brass band. He leaves a wife and seven children at Whipple, and has a grown son in the U. S. Army at Puerto Rico. The funeral will be postponed until the arrival of this son from Puerto Rico. He is now on his way to Prescott. ------------------ Prescott Courier, Prescott, Arizona Friday, June 23, 1899 The funeral of the late Charles Bauer took place from the Catholic Church yesterday. There was a large turnout of old veterans and friends of the family, including the Prescott brass band, of which deceased had been a member.
