Glenda R “Sue” Meluch
On May 5, 2013 Glenda “Sue” received her wings and went home to be with the Lord at the age of 90 years young with her children and grandchildren by her side.
She was born September 24, 1922 in Hennessey, Ok to Homer & Mabel Magee. They moved to Tucson when she was a small girl, where she was raised and graduated from Tucson High School.
She meet her life long love, Pete at Davis Monthon Air Force Base in Tucson and they were married on November 20, 1951 and were married for 61 years. In November 1961, Pete and Sue moved their family to Flagstaff where she has lived for the past 52 years.
Sue enjoyed crafting and loved to sew, making clothes for her daughters and grand-daughters. She loved to dance and looked forward to Spring every year, so that she could work in her garden. Her favorite flower was roses.
Christmas was a very special time for her and her house was always decorated. She was very active with the Elks Ladies of Flagstaff where she served as an officer for many years. She was also instrumental in the Elks Ladies Craft Bazar which was held at the Lodge.
Sue is a member of San Francisco De Asis Catholic Parish. She looked forward to entertaining friends for special occasions and loved fixing family dinners and having her kids around her.
Sue is preceded in death by her Parents and brother, and her life partner, Peter J.
She is survived by her children, Mary Long (Steven), Elizabeth Sims (Jason), and Peter Michael Meluch (Julie). She had 3 grand-daughters, Katherine Long, Christina Steinhour, and Jessica Kerr, with 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday May 4th 5:30 to 7pm at Norvel Owens Mortuary. Rosary will be Friday, 9:30 with Mass at 10:30 at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church. Burial will conclude services at Citizens Cemetery next to her dear husband Peter.
