Robert R. “Bob” Koons, 80, resident of Tempe, died May 2, 2013, of natural causes. He was born July 12, 1932, in Boyertown, Pa.

Bob served his country in the U.S. Army. He received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. May 18 at Desert Cross Lutheran Church, 8600 S. McClintock Road in Tempe, AZ 85284; Interment will be held at 10:30 a.m. May 24 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road in Phoenix.
