The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 05/10/2013 Garland Collins Hall died peacefully April 19, 2013, at her mother’s home in Taylor. She was born Feb. 22, 1966, in Miami. Garland was raised in Taylor, Rolling Hills subdivision, and attended Taylor Elementary School. Before returning to Snowflake High to walk with her class to receive her diploma in 1984, she attended Show Low High for a short period of time. Garland was an honor roll student and competed in the Miss Teen Pageant in her senior year. Her love of horses encouraged trail rides with many of her friends, which prompted her to work on several horse ranches all at the same time in Pennsylvania, where she married. Garland is survived by her beloved husband Douglas Hall; daughters: Ashley and Bethany from a previous marriage; Doug’s two daughters, Lauren and Sarah; mother Joyce Collins; two sisters, Kimberly and April; two brothers, Gerry and Kerry. Her father preceded her in death at Summit Healthcare, formerly Navapache Regional Medical Center, in 2000. As per her request, Garland will be cremated and her remains scattered across the property she loved, where her children had played for years. Family and close friends will hold a small memorial May 11 at her sister’s home at Rolling Hills in Taylor. “Rest in eternal peace my beautiful daughter, Garland. I loved you so very much, will let your sweet, sweet spirit guide me always.”
