GARNER, Alford Leon

USN Ret. MA1 Alford Leon Garner was born January 7, 1947 in Long Beach, CA, and passed away Saturday July 26, 2003 in Phoenix at the age of 56. 

Lonny spent 20 dedicated years in the Navy including a 2 year tour in Vietnam where he was awarded several medals including 2 purple hearts. Lonny also spent several years serving as a corrections officer here in Arizona after retiring from his Naval career.

Lonny is survived by his wife Janet, sons 'little' Lonny (Beckie) and Ray "Big Mandy. Lonny is preceded in death by his parents Beulah and Alan and stepfather Tom. lil'bit Dawn (Danny), and two grandchildren Aubrey and Miles. 

Lonny will be honored by a his Naval burial at sea, and a private memorial will be shared by the family in San Diego.
