Vernile (Vern) Edward Williams, 84, of Dewey, Ariz., passed away on Jan. 14, 2013, of natural causes.
The memorial service will be at 1 p.m. June 1, 2013, at Chapel of the Resurrection Funeral Home in Bothell, Wash. Pastor Joe Fuiten of Cedar Park Church will be officiating.
Vern was born in Florence, Colo., on Feb. 27, 1928. He graduated from Salida High School in Salida, Colo., and continued on an athletic scholarship to receive a P.E. and history degree from Western State College.
Vern was married to Marna Osborne on Aug. 7, 1955; they were married 30 years. He married Judy Spaulding on Feb. 23, 1987; they were married 19 years. He married Flo Kik on Jan. 14, 2009; they were married four years.
Vern enjoyed coaching high school and youth football, basketball and baseball, traveling throughout the United States, golfing and spending time with family and friends.
Vern is survived by his wife, Flo Kik; brother and his wife, Larry and Yvonne Williams; children and their spouses, Vicki Williams, Wilna and Randall Moen, Craig Williams, Kim and Greg Zadow, Cara and Jarid Kling; nephews, Jeremy Williams, Stephen Williams; niece, Sherrill Williams; 15 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and other family and friends.
Vern is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Velma, wife, Marna, brother, Vernon, son-in-law, Pete and wife, Judy.
