Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory - Lake Havasu City, AZ - Kathy Frakes passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2011 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. She was born to Joseph and Lydia Manning on March 26, 1948. Kathy was working as the administrative assistant to personnel at Lake Havasu Unified School District #1 at the time of her death. She started working for the school district in 1996. Kathy also worked as the recycling coordinator for Laidlaw Waste Systems, where she encouraged children to recycle. She recently was trained as a volunteer for Hospice of Havasu. Doing this was something she enjoyed and another way for her to help others. Kathy was a very loving and giving person. Kathy loved to shop! She was a lady of fashion! Purses and shoes were her favorite things to collect. She loved to cook and spend time with family and friends. Kathy was a “classy” lady will be greatly missed by all of those who loved her. Kathy is survived by her husband of 38 years, Shanon; daughter, Maryann Behling (Don) of Bakersfield, CA; daughter-in-law, Maria Frakes, of Lake Havasu; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; sister, Patricia Wolfe (Larry) and several aunts and uncles from Michigan. Her son, Paul Frakes preceded her in death as did her parents, Joseph and Lydia Manning. A celebration of Kathy’s life will be on Thursday, December 1, 2011, 4:00 PM at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home, 21 Riviera Blvd., Lake Havasu City, AZ. A reception will follow at the Lake Havasu Unified School District Office at 2200 Havasupai Blvd., Lake Havasu City.
