Ivan G. Sheffy, 88, of Lake Havasu City passed away Friday, May 10, 2013 after a short illness. He was born Dec. 17, 1924 in Pilsen, Wis.
“Chic” moved to Lake Havasu City 27 years ago from Pinedale, Wyo. where he homesteaded a thousand-acre ranch. He was vice president for 11 years at St. Vincent DePaul and was a Salvation Army bell ringer during the holidays. He was a church cantor, a long-time member of the church and community choirs and community theater. He enjoyed playing cards, ranching, and watching all sports especially the Packers.
He is survived by step-son Kenneth Badget, of Cowley, Wyo.; son, Gregory Sheffy, of Vancouver, Wash.; step-daughter, Sharon Eckhardt, of Guernsey, Wyo.; daughters, Elizabeth Slaughter, of Diamondville, Wyo., Linda Sheffy, of Cheyenne, Wyo., Theresa Grove, of Littleton, Colo., Vanessa Reynolds, of Lake Havasu City, and Lisa Gillette, of Newport, Wash.; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A Memorial Service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 16, at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church with Thomas Kawai officiating.
The family requests that donations be made in his name to St. Vincent DePaul or the Salvation Army.
