The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona Wednesday, May 15, 2013 Harvey Kemper, 76, passed away May 3 at his home in Wickenburg. Harvey was born in September of 1936 to Bea and Albert Samuel Kemper in Newark, N.J. He graduated from college as an aeronautical engineer and worked for the United States space program before working in the power generation industry - nuclear and coal-fired plants - internationally and across the United States. Harvey earned awards and recognition from the South Koreans and the Chinese for his exemplary work. Golf was a passion as was cooking. He was an awesome chef. Integrity, intelligence, humor and heart were some of his attributes. Survivors include his wife Kathleen; sons Jeff Barnes (Stephanie), Phairat Kemper (Paula), and Steven Kemper (Shari); daughters Angelica Kemper and Tassanae Rains (Kemper); many grandchildren; and friends who will miss him. Harvey was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, and a memorial service will be held there at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 2. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wranglers Athletic Boosters (P.O. Box 29127, Wickenburg AZ 85358) for the high school golf team would be appreciated. David’s Desert Chapel in Wickenburg is handling the arrangements.
