Lake Havasu Mortuary & Crematory - Lake Havasu City, AZ - Joan (Plant) Marr, 80, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2011 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. She was born on February 23, 1931 in Yorkshire, England to David and Ethel (Martindale) Plant. Joan married her husband, George Marr, on May 27, 1950 in Stretford, Manchester, England. Joan and George resided in San Diego, CA. for over 40 years before moving to Lake Havasu City 6 years ago. Joan was an award winning Ballroom dancer who loved to grow and tend to her vegetable and flower gardens. She was a great cook as well and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. Joan enjoyed camping and boating on the Colorado river and traveling with her husband. They traveled 44 states within the USA as well as visiting Canada and Mexico. Joan will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Joan is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, George James Marr of Lake Havasu City, AZ.; daughter, Yvonne (Roy) Gash; son, Ian Marr; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Hittner; grandchildren, Kody, Justin, Heather, Angela, Christopher, Stephanie, Joshua and Suzi as well as nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Esther Plant and a grandson, Joshua Gash. Contributions can be made in Joan's name to Hospice of Havasu's Polidori House, 1970 Bahama Ave, LHC.
