William Allen “Bill” passed away from Leukemia on Saturday September 15, 2007 at age 78. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the youngest son of Elbert and Mayme Allen. He attended his last year of high school in Tucson, Arizona, later attending the University of Arizona. His father was the Co-founder of Allen Edmonds Shoe Co. in Belgium, Wisconsin, a well known manufacturer of men’s shoes. Bill worked for the shoe corporation in sales while it was family owned. Later he became a consultant for Electro-static Equipment. He and his wife, Marilyn (nee schoof) lived on Lake Michigan raising their two daughters for 34 years where boating and water activity became a family passion.
Bill had a love for airplanes and received his pilot’s license at a young age. He owned and flew a Cessna 182 and also had an interest in a twin engine Aztec 310 while living in Wisconsin. Before moving to Lake Havasu City, Arizona in 1988, he took many trips to the southwest, which developed into another passion for Photography. Many of his photos were of the landscape of the southwest during their travels in their motor home.
Survivors are his wife of 56 years, Marilyn (nee schoof) two daughters Mindy and Jill from Minneapolis, MN. Two Grand Daughters, Erica Rohde of San Diego, CA, and Michelle Rohde of Minneapolis, MN. One Great Grand Daughter, Kyleigh Boese from San Giego, CA. His older brothers; Bert Allen, Boyd Allen, E. Richard Allen, And Ralph Allen (wife Gloria) preceded him in death.
His wishes were to be cremated. Lake Havasu Mortuary & Crematory handled the arrangements.
