Meldrum Mortuary & Crematory, Mesa, Arizona Antonio Ramirez Maldonado October 15, 1944 ~ May 11, 2013 Antonio Ramirez Maldonado, 68, of Phoenix, passed away on Saturday, May 11th at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Goodyear, after fighting a year-long battle with cancer. Tony is survived by his loving wife, Jackie, of 33 years. He is also survived by his beloved sons, Carlos (Rosemary), Anthony "Reyes" (Viki), Christopher (Lisa), and his beloved daughters, Elena (Cirildo), Erlinda, Dora, Eleanor "Nono" and Cariño. Tony leaves behind his sisters Yolanda (Joe), Maria and brother, Guillermo "Memo" (Francis), 19 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and an abundance of family and friends. Tony is preceded in death by his mother, Reymunda "Reyes" Ramirez and brother Johnny Vallez. Tony will be remembered for the passion he had for his work and for his family. He enjoyed working as a maintenance mechanic for most of his life, including many recent years at Kovach Building Enclosures. Tony faced his final months as a warrior with ultimate courage and has inspired us all. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Goodyear for the wonderful care he received. Gratitude also goes out to Valley of the Hospice and Kovach Building Enclosures. Services for Tony will be held on Friday, May 17th at 5pm at Meldrum Mortuary, 52 N. Macdonald, Mesa, AZ 85201.
