BERLIN, Rowland Fredrick (Rick)

Black’s Show Low Mortuary, Show Low, Arizona Rowland Fredrick Berlin (September 11, 1944 - May 9, 2013) Rowland Fredrick Berlin went home to be with the Lord on May 9, 2013 following an illness. His children surrounded him in his home when he passed. Rick, as his friends and family knew him, was born on September 11, 1944 in Ottawa, KS to Clinton and Wilma Berlin. Rick grew up with his father, mother, and two brothers in Phoenix, AZ where he continued to live until 2011 when he moved to the Pinetop-Lakeside area to retire. For most of his life, Rick was an auto mechanic, a passion that he truly enjoyed. Along with restoring old vehicles he loved being in the outdoors. Camping, fishing, and shooting were pastimes enjoyed by Rick and his three children. Rick was preceded in death by his father Clinton F. Berlin and his mother Wilma C. (Detwiler) Berlin both of Kansas. He is survived by his two brothers Thomas O. Berlin and Joseph R. Berlin of Phoenix, his three children Chad P. Berlin, Leah L. Kabel, and Dustin W. Berlin all of Lakeside, and his nine grandchildren. Rick was a loving father who had a special way with connecting with each of his children. He was also a beloved grandfather who will be greatly missed. Services will be held on June 1, 2013 at 11:00a.m. at the Living Water Community Church in Lakeside.
