MCCLENDON, Alice M.


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Sunday, May 19, 2013 - Alice M. McClendon passed away May 15, 2013 at home with her family. She was born July 30, 1934, in Enterprise, Kan. She grew up in Southern California and graduated from Excelsior High School in Norwalk, Calif. She moved to Lake Havasu in the summer of 1968 and went to work for the McCulloch Chain Saw factory. She was employed there for 27 years before she retired. Alice loved life and often taught her family to “live every day like it’s your last.” She loved her family and her friends would often be shown all her pictures of family. She was also very adept at remembering everyone’s birthday. Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Lew McClendon; her brother, Gene Weir; ad her sister, Kathy MacDonald. She is survived by her brothers, Larry Weir and Mike Weir; he daughter, Debra Farber (John); her son, John Gilchrist (Alicia); her six grandchildren and her six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her very special friend of recent years, Fred Berrier; his daughter, Linda (Ron); and his son, Terry (Michelle). A celebration of her life will be at the London Bridge Resort Sunset Room June 1 at 2 p.m. Please make any contributions in lieu of flowers to Hospice of Havasu.
