Willcox Range News, Willcox, Arizona Monday, May 6, 2013 Steve West 1956-2013 Steve West was born to Ralph and Bernice West (Phillips) in Columbus, Ohio on Nov. 27, 1956. He died Friday evening April 26, 2013 at home in Pearce, Ariz. Steve loved to collect things. He was a loveable fun person who played a guitar and loved to draw and paint pictures. Recently Steve became disabled, with his right knee requiring multiple surgeries, and had difficulty walking. His dog Sugar was well loved and a constant companion. Steve had one son Michael West, 34-years-old, of Pearce, Ariz. His siblings are David (Sheila) West of Lancaster, Ohio, Lou (Myrl) Kidd, Pearce, Ariz., and Patty (Todd) Mathis of Newnan, Ga. Steve also had three nephews: Richard Acres of Michigan, Justin and Joshua Mathis of Newnan, Ga., and one niece, Regina Saavedra of Tucson, Ariz. He also had many great-nephews and -nieces. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to assist the family to cover funeral expenses. Memorial services for Steve will be held Saturday, May 4 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 6431 E. Apache Drive, in Sunizona. Pastor Larry Dickey will present the services on Saturday morning. Following the service, a pot luck meal will be served. A private viewing will be held at Westlawn Chapel and Mortuary.
