VALLEJOS, Evila (Billie)

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 05/21/2013 Evila C. “Billie” Vallejos, 76, died Thursday, May 16, 2013, at her home in Eagar. She was born Oct. 23, 1937, the daughter of Lloyd T. Chavez and Tomasita Tafoya Chavez. Billie was a member of the American Legion and a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliaries, where she also volunteered. She worked for Brown and Root, Valley National Bank and White Mountain Community Hospital. Billie is survived by her son Paul Vallejos, Ellijay, Georgia; daughters, Toni Nelson and Rosa Vallejos, both of Eagar; Donna Vallejos of Washington; sisters Armira Ballejos, Grace Stephens and Tina Chavez; eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Dave Chavez and Gilbert Chavez, son Nick Vallejos Jr. and daughter Vicki Vallejos Sherman. A visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with a rosary following at 7 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 23, also at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
