BLODGETT, John Robert (Jack)


The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona March 27, 2012 John Robert "Jack" Blodgett of Tempe, Arizona passed away March 24, 2012 at the age of 68 after a short battle with cancer. Jack was born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 28, 1943 and moved to Mesa, Arizona in 1947 with his parents Frank & Zilpha Blodgett and brother Tom. Jack attended St. Mary's High School and graduated from St. Anthony's Seminary in Santa Barbara, CA. He attended ASU before joining the Army in1964. Jack graduated from the Military Language School at the Presidio of Monterey, CA and served in Hawaii until his discharge in 1968. After the Army Jack returned to the Valley to begin his banking career and continued to pursue his love of history, languages and politics. Jack is survived by Linda his loving wife of 42 years, brother Tom (Sandra) Blodgett, nephews Michael, Greg (Lori) and Pat Blodgett, niece Melissa (Michael) Bates. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 30, 2012 at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, 1562 E. Baseline Road, Mesa, AZ. In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions to Hospice of the Valley for The Lund Family Hospice Home , 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014-5656.
