Daviera, Alexander passed away on December 7, 2009.
Daviera, Alexander 83 of Chandler, AZ went home to be with our Lord on December 7, 2009.
He is survived by his wife Louise Daviera (DeSimone). His children, Paula (Edward) Kirner of Chandler, AZ, Dennis Daviera of Valporaiso, IN, James (Diane) Daviera of Lowell, IN, Pamela (Carl) Crispino of Monroe, MI, Nancy (Dominic) Rodia of DesPlaines, IL and Anthony (Lisa) Daviera of Bourbonnais, IL. Grandchildren, Gina Bartoszek, Tammy Folta, Nicole Daep, Ginny, Samuel and Andrea Daviera, Jason Daviera, Wendy Flynn, John Crispino, Larina Gagliano, David and Paul Morganelli and Lauren and Preston Daviera. He has five great grandchildren, Zachary, Noah, Samuel and Sophia Bartoszek and Talia Daep. Alexander is survived by his brothers Louis Daviera of Crete, IL, Michael Daviera of Grant Park, IL, Tony and Benny Zona of Steger, IL and Michael Panici of Crete, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allessandro & Nunziata (Cianchetti) Daviera, his brothers Paul Balducci and Aurelio Balducci and his sisters Artensia Santaniello and Lisa Marchescki and daughter-in-law Diana Daviera.
Alexander was born in Chicago Heights, IL and lived his whole life in the Chicago Heights area. Alex and his wife Louise married on June 29, 1947. Alex and his wife just recently moved to Chandler, AZ in July of this year to live with his daughter, Paula Kirner.
Alexander served in the U.S. Army. Alex was a decorated WORLD WAR II Veteran in which he served as a LCpl. and as 1st Lt. in the heavy artillery forces and he led his platoon into combat on the war front in the United States Army. Alex was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother.
He loved to spend time with his family. He loved to cook, fish and play cards. Alexander was owner of a Phillip 66 gas station in Park Forest for many years. He was a master mechanic and heavy equipment mechanic all his life.
Visitation will be held Monday December 14, 2009 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Queen of Heaven Mortuary Chapel 1562 E. Baseline Rd., Mesa, AZ 85204.
Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church 1800 E. Libra Dr., Tempe, AZ 85283 followed by burial at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Mesa, AZ. The family wishes to thank all the wonderful doctors, nurses, caregivers and staff at Hospice of the Valley.
