Meldrum Mortuary & Crematory, Mesa, Arizona Barbara Delight Grim Woodroffe November 13, 1943 ~ May 19, 2013 Barbara Delight Grim Woodroffe, 69, of Tempe, AZ passed away May 19, 2013 after courageously battling ovarian cancer. She was a beloved Wife, Mother, Grammy, and Friend. She was born November 13, 1943 in Pensacola, Florida to John and Delight Grim. At age 3, her family moved to Phoenix and later to Tempe, where she grew up and graduated from Tempe High in 1961. Barb was a Gamma Phi Beta at ASU, graduating in 1965. In June of the same year, she married the love of her life, Bill. Shortly thereafter, they moved to California, where she taught school for two years. Her son John was born in 1967 and daughter Kristi in 1969. A few years after starting their family, they moved back to Tempe. Barb later studied dental hygiene and practiced for 10 years. After retiring, Barb worked with her son in his deli, then at a boutique in Tempe, where she met many lifelong friends. In the last several years, she had volunteered with Meals on Wheels, Assistance League, and was active in the Arizona State Chapter P.E.O. Sisterhood. Her husband Bill; son, John; daughter, Kristi; daughter-in-law, Sheila; son-in-law, Richard Pickerel; and four grandsons, Tyler, Nick, Christian, and Aiden, survive her. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Friday May 24, 2013 at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 2085 E. Southern Ave, Tempe AZ 85282. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in memory of Barbara to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E.
