J. Kim Gorman went home to be with Jesus on Mother’s Day, May 12, 2013 at her home in Parker, Ariz., at the age of 56. Kim was born on Sept. 10, 1956 to Joe Sharp and Freida (Martin) Sharp. She lived her entire life in Parker.
Kim worked for the Colorado River Indian Tribes in various capacities over the past 25 years including as an executive secretary and as a clerk. She worked for the CRIT Shop, the Colorado River Indian Housing Authority, the CRIT Public Defenders Office and the CRIT Designated Housing Entity.
Kim was also an ordained minister of the gospel and during the last two years she served as an associate pastor at the Light of the Lake Church in Havasu Landing, Calif. She also served as an itinerant evangelist for many years prior to her position as a pastor.
Kim enjoyed shopping, doing various crafts, photography and especially going to church on Sunday. She enjoyed worshipping God and was an accomplished piano player and vocalist.
Kim is survived by her husband of 20 years, Guy P. Gorman; two sons, Bennett Gonzalez and Lester Gonzalez; brother Woodrow K. Sharp and three grandchildren, Savannah, Bennett Jr. (whom she affectionately nicknamed Bob) and Tabitha Joeli.
Her parents, Frieda and Joe Sharp and her sister, Dorothea Sharp, preceded Kim in death.
Funeral were held at the Parker Grace Assembly of God May 17, and she will be interred at the Parker Cemetery.
