DEATH COMES TO ANOTHER PIONEER
John J. Harter Is Taken At Age Of 83; Is Father Of Local Freight
Agent
Death yesterday morning came to another Yavapai county pioneer, John
J. Harter, 83, succumbed at 9:30 a. m. at the family residence on
Beach avenue.
Harter, father of Harry Harter, freight agent of the Santa Fe in
this city, had been ill almost a month and died peacefully.
He had become a resident of the state for 40 years and had been
turning his light labors to the Octave Mining company. He was born
in Waukesha, Wis.
Harter is survived by the widow, a daughter, Mrs. Ed King of
Florence Junction and two sons Harry of this city and Jack of
Bisbee.
Funeral services will be held privately.
