A.L. Moore-Grimshaw Bethany Chapel, Phoenix, Arizona Sherri Lin May November 10, 1956 - April 10, 2011 Sherri left us far too early in life, passing away April 10, 2011, but her grace and beauty will forever be in our hearts. Born in Globe, AZ November 10, 1956, her family moved to the Phoenix area when she was a little girl. She loved Phoenix, the warm weather, movies, and the newest in shopping "The Mall". But Sherri was not destined to remain in the valley and again her family was transferred to Flagstaff when Sherri was just beginning high school, where soon she would meet the love of her life, Jim. Marrying her high school sweetheart in 1974, Sherri and Jim began sharing an adventure lasting over 36 years. Sherri began her professional career in 1977 at what was then Valley National Bank. She served in many banking positions in the branches and in sales and marketing. Her innovative, engaging approach to employee customer communication helped the bank through several mergers and acquisitions. She left Bank One in 1997 to start her own business, Sherri May & Company, a creative services and marketing company specializing in the financial services industry. Through her creativity, keen business sense, devoted business partnerships, and fun-loving personality, Sherri grew the business from a one-woman shop to a staff of 10. Sherri instilled a sense of confidence and true appreciation for everyone with whom she worked. As one client said recently, "Sherri always made you feel like everything was going to be OK." Sherri is survived by her husband Jim, their two sons Dan and Timothy, and one granddaughter Suzanne. She was preceded in death by her father Jerry Wenzel. Her mother, Laura Lou Wenzel resides in Peoria, AZ along with her younger brother Kris Wenzel of Phoenix. We will honor and celebrate Sherri's life on April 16th at the North Phoenix Baptist Church located at 5757 N. Central Avenue in Phoenix, beginning with a public viewing at 1:00 PM and funeral service at 2:00 PM. Family and friends are encouraged to share their memories and condolences by visiting the online obituary Guest Book at www.obits.azcentral.com Sherri always included her favorite quote of the week with her emails to friends and clients. Her last quote was from author Dave Barry which said "Nobody cares it you can't dance, Just get up and dance." Arrangements under the direction of A.L. Moore-Grimshaw Bethany Chapel, Phoenix, AZ.
