The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona, August 24, 2007, Section B, Page 8 George W. Brannan, 77, died on Tuesday, August 21st, in Goodyear, Arizona. He was born on March 21, 1930, in Miami, Arizona. As a boy George lived in Los Angeles, Venezuela, and Nevada before returning to Arizona as a teenager. George served in the Air Force during the Korean War and worked for AT&T for thirty years before retiring to enjoy his family and his summer cabin north of Payson. He was active in his church and all the activities his six children participated in; 4H, Boy Scouts and all manner of sports. Through it all, his generous good nature and remarkable sense of humor were a constant. George is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Gayle (Martin) Brannan of Buckeye, his sons Doug, Greg, Jeff and John, daughters Janie and Wendy, fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the Liberty United Methodist Church this Sunday, August 26th, at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers the family would like memorials made to Liberty United Methodist Church, 19900 West US Hwy 85, Buckeye, AZ 85326. Published in The Arizona Republic on August 24, 2007
