Richard Austin Sr., 75, went to be with his Lord at 4:29 a.m. Monday, April 29 at Wickenburg Community Hospital with his family at his side.
Richard was born Aug. 29, 1937 in Alton, Ill., and was the son of the late Charles Austin and the late Catherine (Bill) Mueggenburg.
He married Sally A. Mundy on Oct. 8, 1976 in Alton, and she survives.
Richard was a pyro metallurgist for years and also worked with metals from the labor hall out of Illinois and at several jobs in Alton.
He is survived by his wife Sally; six children and their spouses - Richard Austin (Cindy) of Western Arizona, Billy Austin (Sue) of Illinois, Donnie Austin (Sheri) of Wisconsin, Nathan Austin of Illinois, Joshua Austin (Theresa) of Elko, Nev., and Tiffany (Jonathan Albright) of Surprise; 18 grandchildren and a few great-grandchildren; brother Jim (Becky) Bunting of Oregon; and sister Barbara Turner (late husband Paul) of Wood River, Ill.
A memorial service was held May 2 at the First Southern Baptist Church in Wickenburg, with dinner held for the family at the church.
Pastor Jerome Taylor conducted the ceremony.
The ladies of First Southern Baptist Church provided the meal.
Many family and friends offered cards, flowers and gifts.

He will be missed by family and all who put up with his laughter and talks. He was a very outspoken and loving person.
