West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona, Friday, June 07, 2013 Joyce Marie Garrison, 80, of Buckeye died June 5, 2013, at her home. Mrs. Garrison was born Aug. 25, 1932, in Houston to Edgar and Mary Glover Miller. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church. She was a telephone operator for Ma Bell and also worked at the Wigwam in Litchfield Park. She was in the Desert CBer's and had the handle Texas Rose. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Eugene Garrison; and one daughter, Sharon Gail Garrison. She is survived by four daughters, Pamela Donaldson of Luling, La., Patricia Buttes of Buckeye, Donna McCauley of Fort Worth, Texas, and Sandra Jones of Avondale; three sons, David Garrison of Seagoville, Texas, Michael Garrison of Glendale and Mark Garrison of El Mirage; two sisters, Esther Cloud and Charlene McEntire; one brother, Charles Miller; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. June 10 at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road in Goodyear. A funeral service will be at 9 a.m. June 11 at Thompson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at West Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6290 W. Northern Ave. in Glendale. The Rev. Ray Brown of Truth Tabernacle in Avondale will officiate.
