Vining Funeral Home, Safford, Arizona Mary Sanchez July 16, 1947 - June 4, 2013 Mary Sanchez, age 65, of Safford, entered into eternal rest Tuesday afternoon, June 4, 2013, at the Tucson Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Mary was born July 16, 1947 in Artesia, New Mexico, to Cruz and Richarda Lugo. She attended school in New Mexico, where she met the man that would later become her loving companion, Isidro, in 1972. Isidro worked in the oil fields of New Mexico to provide for their new family, until Mary moved to the Gila Valley to be closer to family. Isidro gained employment in Morenci, and Mary would follow a career she loved: loving and spoiling her family. Mary loved to spend time with friends, playing bingo, gambling and playing other games. She also was a part of the Assembly of God in her community. Mary was preceded in death by her brother Alvino Lugo, her young son Jose Luis Sanchez, and her parents. She leaves behind her loving family: her daughter Sheila Tercero of Ft. Davis, Texas, son Salome Sanchez of Safford, step-children Lola Chavira, Isidro Montez Jr., Saul Montez, Jesse Montez, and Michael Montez.
