HAWKINS, Walter R. (Corky)

The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, Arizona Saturday, June 08, 2013 WALTER R. (CORKY) HAWKINS, born 2-8-1938 in El Monte, CA, passed away in his home on 6-3-2013. He is survived by Rosemary, the love of his life, whom he wed 29 years ago. He is also survived by 1 sister, Gloria Mumford, 1 son, Rodney (Joan), 3 daughters Karla Hawkins, April Armstrong (Dave), Terry Corti and 12 grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Josie and Clarence Hawkins, brothers, Jack, Richard, and Bob and 1 sister, Nancy. He served 4 years in the U.S. Navy. His life-long career was as a structural iron worker/welder. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and four legged children, playing cribbage and restoring vintage vehicles. He was a member of the VFW, Elks and Moose Lodge. No services will be held. Information provided by survivors.
