She was born in Ridgway, Pennsylvania, daughter of William and Bertha Allinger. Maxine attended Ridgway High School and graduated June 2, 1939. She also attended Hoff Business College in Warren, Pennsylvania and graduated May 23, 1941. Maxine was married to Philip S. Sipes on December 16, 1955. She was married for over 21 years before losing her husband to cancer. She spent her working career in the clerical field working for NAU, NACOG and FUSD. She retired from FUSD in 1982. She was a member of Trinity Heights United Methodist Church (THUMC) since its inception in 1967 and for many years was involved in their ongoing craft group and its annual craft and food bazaar. She loved crossword puzzles, crafts, sewing, cooking and baking. She came from a large family and enjoyed the many family reunions that were held. We will remember her as a woman of strong character and faith. While she was homebound for more than a decade, still she continued to share her gift of love, joy and laughter with all those around her. Her family would like to thank the Grace Note Writers of THUMC for the many cards and notes they sent while she was homebound; and the caring medical staff who made her life more comfortable in her last years. Maxine is survived by her three children, Amy Sipes, Terry (Cyndie) Sipes and Timothy (Connie) Sipes; four grandchildren, Rebecca (Chad Johnson) Sipes, Cody (Becky) Sipes, Joshua (Jackie) Sipes and Kyle Sipes; along with three great grandchildren, Logan, Zoe and Paige.
