Mohave Daily News, Mohave Valley, AZ - Published in Mohave Daily News Online from June 9 to June 16, 2013 - ~Karen Pollett, age 63, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2013, in Tucson, Ariz., at TMC Peppi's House Hospice surround by her family. She was a nine year resident of Mohave Valley. Karen was born in Streater, Ill., March 2, 1950 to George and Dolores (Farkas) Bresney. Karen attended St Stephens School and Streater High School, class of 1968. She married Ron Pollett on May 17, 1970. They had just celebrated their 43rd Wedding Anniversary. He is survived in Arizona. ~Karen was preceded in death by her parents; her mother and father in law, Richard and Ruth Pollett; infant daughters, Katy Ilene, Shannon Leigh and Carrie Lynn. She is also survived by her daughter, Rhonda (Don) Redd of Corona de Tucson, Ariz.; grandsons, Ryne (15) and Nicklaus (9) of Corona de Tucson, Ariz.; sisters, Linda Ebner of Utica, N.Y., Susan Angelico of Streater, Ill. and Janice McCoy of Ark. ~She worked at Thatcher Glass for many years and retired from Flink Co. in 2003 where she was in accounting/payroll and inventory control manager. Karen loved being "Gramma K" more than anything. Ryne and Nicklaus were the light of her life. That being said, in lieu of flower or plants, memorials may be directed to the family for the education funds for her grandsons. ~Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St Michael the Archangel Parish Church. Msgr. Phillip Halfacre will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home in Streater, Ill. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery in Streater. Pallbearers are her grandsons, Ryne and Nicklaus Redd. Honorary Pallbearers are the girls from the class of '68" (you know how you are.) Cremation rites have been accorded.
