ODOM, William O. (Bill)

West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona, Tuesday, June 11, 2013 William O. "Bill" Odom, 71, of Goodyear died June 4, 2013, at his home. Mr. Odom was born March 8, 1942, in Lindsay, Okla., to J.C. and Monetta Odom. After managing sporting goods stores for many years, he worked as a sporting goods representative for 33 years. He was an active member of the Southwest Church of Christ. After his retirement, he served in the food pantry at the church. He was preceded in death by one son, Gary Wayne Odom. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Joyce; one son, Dale Odom of Phoenix; three daughters, Sheri Sechrist of Paradise Valley, Sherli Wheeler of Grand Forks, N.D., and Sheryl Correll of Bellingham, Wash; four grandchildren; two brothers, Connon Odom of Los Alamos, N.M., and Roger Odom of Las Cruces, N.M.; and one sister, Neta Moseley of Surprise. A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. today at the Southwest Church of Christ, 8720 W. Indian School Road in Phoenix.
