SANCHEZ, Arthur (Art)

The Eastern Arizona Courier, Safford, Arizona ~ June 08, 2013 Arthur Sanchez passed away May 25, 2013. ‘Art’ was born July 12, 1952, and raised in Arizona, where he married his high school sweetheart, Nancy, in Safford 42 years ago. When they lived in Safford he worked for the county supervising crews that developed the ballpark at the fairgrounds. He moved to Tucson to attend AC/Refrigeration School, then moved his family to Santa Barbara, Calif., in 1992. Art loved his family and never missed an opportunity to play with his two grandsons. He served and encouraged his church family faithfully for over 20 years and welcomed everyone with a big hug. He always made you feel special. A man of faith and encouragement, Arthur will be missed. Art was preceded in death by his father, Samuel, and mother, Bellen. Art is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughter, Jocelyn; grandsons, Dylan and Logan; four brothers, Daniel (New Mexico), Arnold (California), Fernie (Arizona) and Anthony (California); and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Arthur’s celebration of life will be held at First Baptist Church of Santa Barbara, 949 Veronica Springs Road, Santa Barbara, Calif., June 29, at noon.
