The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona Wednesday, June 12, 2013 Diana Dee Doubek, 61, of Prescott passed away on May 27 [2013] after a long battle with cancer. Diana, also known as Kiwi (an abbreviated version of her given Native American name meaning White Wolf) in her later years, was born on Dec. 18, 1951 in Davenport, Iowa, to Lloyd and Gladys Pollitz. She moved to Arizona in 1986 and lived in Phoenix, Congress, and then Prescott. She was a great musician and became a professional oboe player in various symphonies and later played many different Native American flutes, the saxophone, metal flute, and any other instruments she chose to try. She felt she was serving the Lord through her music, playing with numerous churches in her lifetime. Diana loved animals and had many different pets in her life, among them horses and many dogs. She trained her American Eskimo dogs and competed in obedience and agility with them, winning numerous awards. Diana had a great spirit and was always quick to find the humor in every situation. She is survived by her son Stephen Doubek; brother Michael Pollitz; sister Polly Turpin; and her fiance Larry DiMercurio. Her kind loving personality touched so many people in her life, and she will be greatly missed. Her memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday (June 15) at the First Southern Baptist Church, 360 W. Yavapai St. in Wickenburg.
