Elizabeth (Beth) Ann Motsenbocker, 42, a long time resident of Flagstaff, AZ, passed away, June 6, 2013 at Flagstaff Medical Center from the hantavirus disease.
Beth was born in Plainfield, New Jersey to Owen and Carol Sullivan.
They moved to Flagstaff in 1981 after vacationing in and falling in love with Northern Arizona. She graduated from Flagstaff High School and attended Northern Arizona College of Health Careers.
Beth married Tom Motsenbocker on July 1, 1994. Together they raised two beautiful children, Amy and Drew Motsenbocker. Since a young age Beth wanted to be a Mom so it was only natural that she decided to stay home and raise her family.
Beth is survived by her husband, Tom Motsenbocker, daughter, Amy Motsenbocker, son, Drew Motsenbocker, parents, Owen and Carol Sullivan, (all Flagstaff residents) and sister, Sharon Sullivan Jones (Gilbert, AZ). Words cannot express how much she will be missed by them and many other family members and friends, too numerous to mention.
An avid athlete, Beth participated in softball, volleyball and basketball in high school. As an adult she continued playing softball and volleyball in various Flagstaff leagues. She loved the outdoors and pursued many activities with her family including skiing, snowmobiling, hitting the sand dunes, fishing, boating and spending time at her favored Lake Powell. She enjoyed traveling and always stayed in touch with extended family in other parts of the country. Recently she began taking golf lessons with her son Drew.
We will remember Beth as the beautiful angel that she was; always fun, kind, outgoing, helpful, and loving. Her amazing smile and personality could light up a room and her kindness and generosity held no boundaries.
Giving of herself to help others, Beth volunteered many hours with Make-A-Wish Foundation, Child Help and Shadows Foundation. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 15 at the Motsenbocker home, 3945 Westwood Circle, Flagstaff from 4:00 to 5:00 pm.
