After moving to Eagle Creek, while continuing his full time job, Estacada High School brought him on as the varsity volleyball coach in 1977 and achieved "Oregon High School Coach of the Year" in 1982 and 1986. Seeking cooler weather they moved to Saddlebrooke, which is in North Tucson, where he continued to enjoy golfing along with bridge and the beautiful Catalina Mountains. On June 7th Dick passed away at home surrounded by family. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Patricia; sons, Dave and Joe; daughter, Anne; grandchildren, David and Katie; sister Doris; and many nieces and nephews. There will be a gathering for family and friends in Oregon sometime this summer. The family requests that remembrances, in lieu of flowers, should be made to a hospice or cancer foundation.
