Hugh R. Snell, 83, of Prescott, Ariz., passed away Friday, May 31, 2013, at the Hospice Family Care in Prescott.
Born in Albion, Iowa, he was the son of the late Marion and Ella Stevenson Snell. He was an undergraduate of Northwestern University in Minnesota and received a graduate degree from the University of South Dakota, Vermillion. He was ordained as a Baptist minister and taught high school English/science and literature for 18 years.
After moving to Prescott in December 1980, he established Sunray Building Systems and Snell Construction companies. He enjoyed his work, the outdoors and all animals, donating his time to the church, the community and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his older brother. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Chris Snell; his younger brother; his sister-in-law; five children; 11 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services entrusted to Heritage Memory Mortuary in Prescott. Memorial services to be announced for mid-to late-July.
