MOORE,
Quinton Jeffery (Jeff)
The Eastern Arizona Courier,
Safford, Arizona ~ June 12, 2013
Mr. Quinton Jeffery Moore (known as Jeff), 74, of Thatcher, died May 25, 2013, at Peppi’s House Hospice in Tucson from lung cancer.
Born and raised in Selma, Ala., until the age of 16, when he moved to California with his mother. He started his own vacuum and sewing machine store in Lompoc, Calif., then eventually moved east. After several years of living in Texas, Alabama, and California, Jeff finally settled down in Benson with his family in 1970. Shortly afterwards, Jeff and Shirley opened Benson Upholstery (later renamed Moore’s Upholstery) and then moved the family and business 7-miles to St. David.
In 1979, the family moved to Thatcher and opened their upholstery shop there. As well as operating their own successful business, Jeff and Shirley took on the gratifying job of teaching upholstery at EAC in Thatcher. Jeff raised his family and eventually became a grandpa and great-grandpa several times over. His family loved him very much and will never forget him. We will never forget his phone calls to us that began by singing, “I Just Called To Say I Love You.” Rest in peace Dad. We love you and know you are happy with Mom now.
Jeff is survived by daughter, Terri Schilling and husband, Michael in Gilbert, daughter, Karan Moore in Tucson, daughter, Debbie Lund and husband Jason in Globe, and son, Jeffery Moore and wife Carrie in Ft. Thomas; grandchildren, Kete, Lisa, Lacy, Victoria, Tracy, Tiffany, Chance, Krissy, Molly, Rebecca, Paige, and Jeffery; great-grandchildren, Dillon, Autry, Oscar, Noah, Daniel, Emma, Payton, Honis, Kolten, Cooper, and Krisstina.
Jeff was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; his parents, Cooper and Euell; and his brothers, Cliff and Robert.
The family will have a private memorial.
