TALLEY, Robert Lee


West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona, Friday, June 21, 2013 Robert Lee Talley, 74, of Buckeye and formerly of Parker died June 17, 2013, at Phoenix Baptist Hospital. Mr. Talley was born Dec. 19, 1938, in Santa Monica, Calif., to Raymond Oliver Talley and Grace Hoff Talley. He grew up outside of Santa Monica and then moved to Cuyama Valley, Calif., and graduated from Taft Junior College. He married Marilyn Joyce Azevedo in 1958 and moved to Parker, where he farmed on the Colorado River Indian Tribes Reservation. His wife died in 1973, and he married Ruth Esther Kelly in 1975. He farmed 40 more years before retiring. He moved to Buckeye in 2010. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn Joyce Azevedo; and one son, William. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Ruth Talley; two sons, Paul Talley of Hannover, Germany, and John Talley of Palo Alto, Calif.; five daughters, Cindy Turnbow of Napa, Calif., Deby Peters of Parker, Sarah Gonzalez of Buckeye, Mary Talley of Napa, Calif., and Lydia Rau of Napa, Calif.; one brother, Mark Talley of Miami; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Grace Fellowship Church, 1300 N. Miller Road in Buckeye.
