All friends and neighbors are invited to attend and participate in the celebration. Mrs. Johnson was born January 29, 1934 in Caliham, Texas. She moved to Flagstaff in 1964, where she raised three sons. She was well known and admired for her remarkable skills as a gardener, seamstress and homemaker. For over forty years she proudly displayed her hand crafted western shirts, dresses, quilts; as well as, canned vegetables, jams, jellies and baked goods at the Coconino County Fair. Prior to a decline in her health, she was an enthusiastic volunteer with the Northland Hospice, where she enjoyed assisting with concessions for the Fair of Life, and later with the Hodgepodge thrift store located at 2340 E. Route 66 in Flagstaff. Due to a decline in her health, she reluctantly left Flagstaff in September of 2012, to live with her son and granddaughters in Florence, Arizona. Mrs. Johnson passed away on November 17, 2012 in Casa Grande, Arizona. She is survived by three sons: Rick McCumber of George West, Texas; Art Johnson of Florence, Arizona; and Walt Johnson of Flagstaff, Arizona. Three granddaughters: Carly McCumber of Huntsville, Texas; Emma and August Johnson of Florence, Arizona; one grandson Caleb McCumber of Houston, Texas; and one great-grandson Cade McCumber of Houston, Texas. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to Northland Hospice.
