Beverley Anne Custer
(March 21, 1946 - June 23, 2013)
Beverley Anne Custer, 67, of Flagstaff, passed away June 23rd, 2013 at her home after a brave battle with cancer. She was born in Perth, Western Australia to Robert and Irene Ross.
Beverley left Australia at age 21 to see the world. Beverly married David Custer of Prescott, Arizona, living in Japan, France, Florida, California and Colorado before settling in Flagstaff in 1983. She started her career as an administrative officer for Arizona Department of Transportation and retired after 30 wonderful years with her ADOT family.
Beverley’s lifelong passion was tennis, where she competed at a local and national level and made lifelong friendships. Her other loves included spending time with family, hiking, gardening, baking and sewing.
She is survived by her sister Irene (Richard) Philips of Perth, Australia and three children, Bruce (Kim) of Ventura, California, Kylie (Kent) of Flagstaff, Arizona, and Phil (Trista) of Flagstaff, Arizona, and four grandchildren, Madison, Jarrett, Kate and Beau. Beverly was preceded in death by her mother and father.
Services will be held at 10 am on Thursday June 27th at Trinity Heights United Methodist Church at 3600 N. 4th Street, Flagstaff, Arizona 86004, with a reception immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation to be sent to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
