He was born March 18, 1936, in Wilmington, Calif., the son of Joseph and Ella McCarty. Mac was 77 years old. He married the love of his life, Virginia "Ginny," on June 27, 1959, celebrating just short their 54 years of marriage. Mac was a retired fire fighter and devout member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Ginny; daughters, Eileen Eckendorf, Ronnie (Rich) Stifel, Kathy (Rick) Aranda, Laurie McCarty, and Melissa Coffey; nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren; sister, Fran Ruff; brother, Nolan (Sharon) McCarty; cousins, Nel Botello and Donnie Vaughn. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in Mac's name to St. Vincent de Paul, 150 Fleury St., Prescott, AZ 86301. A funeral mass will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A committal service with military honors will take place at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Prescott National Cemetery.
