LISTOL, Rudolph (Rudy)


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Wednesday, June 26, 2013 Rudolph "Rudy" Listol, 81, of Prescott, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2013. He was born in McFarland, Wis., the son of the late Thorvold and Anna Listol who immigrated from Norway. He was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister. He was married to Adeline for over 60 beautiful years. He was a native of Stoughton, Wis. Rudy is survived by four children, Gary (Joan), Diane Gregg (Wonil), Jeannie Fornara (Marc) and Randy (Liz); grandchildren Heather, Sierra, Josh, Zachary, Shannon, Garrett, Erika, Ryan, Amber, McKenna, Andy; and 11 great grandchildren. Rudy was a self-employed farmer for many years in Stoughton, Wis. and served as a crew leader at Oscar Meyer in Madison. He and Adeline sold their home and moved out west to Prescott for a better life in 1969. Rudy was the former owner of Deluxe Liquor Store on Montezuma Street and reinvented himself and opened Listol Painting in Prescott. He was a hard working man with amazing integrity and courage. Rudy was passionate about everything he did in life. He had clear cut ideals, respect for individuality, and had a tremendous zest for life with his loving and devoted wife Adeline and family. Rudy's celebration of life will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013 at First Lutheran Church, 231 W. Smoke Tree Lane in Prescott. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Rudy's name to the spiritual care team at the Marley House who took loving care of him in his last days, Good Samaritan Hospice Marley House, 1063 Ruth St., Prescott, AZ 86301.
