HARVEY, Lillie Louise

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Wednesday, June 26, 2013 Lillie Louise Harvey Louise passed away very peacefully early in the morning of June 18, 2013 in the presence of her family in Lehi, Utah. She was born in Atlanta, Ga. and married Fred Harvey in 1940 in Miami, Fla. They were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple the same year. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred, in 1987 after 47 years of marriage. Louise was the daughter of Ruth and Asael Despain who were deceased in 1971. Louise and Fred moved to Phoenix in 1942 and then to Prescott in 1946, where they raised their family. She worked as a bookkeeper for Thrifty Wholesale and McIlvain Motor Co. until retiring. After retirement, they moved to Mesa, Ariz. Louise remained in Mesa until 2006 when she moved to Pleasant Grove, Utah to live with her son Chuck. Fred and Louise were very active in the LDS Church and served a mission together at the Liberty Jail Visitors Center in St. Louis, Mo. in 1980-81. Louise loved to quilt, crochet, do beading, ceramics and cross-stitch. She worked as a volunteer at Mesa Lutheran Hospital for many years where she made numerous hats and booties for newborns. She also made leprosy bandages for the Church. She loved to travel and visited the 50 States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Fiji, Singapore, China, Thailand, England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland. She is survived by her six children, John (Karen) of Winslow, Ariz., Ruth Capen (Mike) of Gilbert, Ariz., Chuck (Maria) of Pleasant Grove, Utah, Curtis (Becky) of Mesa, Ariz., Rick (Donise) of Ft. Worth, Texas, Dennis (Donna) of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; 20 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren. A viewing will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, prior to the funeral at 1 p.m. at the LDS Church, N Harris Building, 1455 N. Harris, Mesa, Ariz.
