Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Wednesday, June 26, 2013 >> Wilson (Bill) Wallace Caldon << >> May 16, 1929 — June 17, 2013 << Bill passed away in his sleep at his home in Oxnard, Calif. He was born in Oregon and was raised in El Monte, Calif. After he graduated from El Monte High, he joined the U.S. Army and was active duty from 1950-1952 and in the reserves from 1952-1956, where he received an Honorable Discharge. He married Marie Feb. 11, 1956. On Aug. 8, 1971, Bill moved his family to Lake Havasu City, where he worked as the upholsterer for Campbell Boats, and later for the Lake Havasu School District, where he was an assistant coach for the high school track and field team as well as overseeing all sporting events. But it was track that he loved dearly and he touched the lives of many Havasu youth. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Marie; daughter Rosie, son-in-law Don and grandson Brett Mesisca. He leaves behind his wife, Lois; sons, Sean (Nancy) and Tom (Jolene); grandsons, Chris, Billy and Dylan Caldon and eight great grandchildren. He was loved by many and will be truly missed. There will be a small family gathering at the beach in Oxnard. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Havasu.
