PETERSEN, Adrian (Abe)


Lake Havasu Mortuary and Crematory - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Adrian "Abe" James Petersen, passed away on June 26, 2013 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born on April 23, 1938 in Raymond, WA. to Charles and Martha Petersen. Abe, as he was known to his family and friends, moved to Lake Havasu City 13 years ago, coming from Twisp, WA. In his earlier years, Abe played football, was a volunteer fireman and worked at the Lumbermill as a certified electrician. He worked in Alaska and had his own successful business in Washington. Abe was extremely smart with a very good work ethic and had a wonderful sense of humor. He was a very devoted family man, served on and donated to numerous charities and fund raising events. He helped the less fortunate emotionally and monetarily. Abe and his wife were able to realize their dream and traveled to South Africa, Egypt and Italy. Abe and Donna took extensive road trips, including traveling to Kentucky for the Eagles Grand convention, where he assisted the Grand Worthy President. They also traveled to the west, visiting numerous national parks and spending time with family and friends in Washington. Abe was the past Worthy President of the Eagles #4299 in Lake Havasu City as well as past Worthy State President of the Eagles in Arizona, past President of Eagles in Twisp, WA. for 5 or 6 years and charter member of the ELKS of Thompson Falls, Montana and a member of the ELKS in Lake Havasu City as well as a member of the Lake Havasu City Moose Lodge. Abe is survived by his son, Stanley (Kathy) Petersen of Washington; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons, Adrian and Donnie; sisters, Charlene and her two children and 4 grandchildren, Lynda and her family; life partner, Donna McCrimmon and her 2 children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of nearly 50 years, Becky in 2008 and a son, Walter in 1994.
