LUEKEN, Brand Joseph

Parker Pioneer, Parker, AZ - Published on July 3, 2013 >> Brand J. Lueken << >> Feb. 19, 1951 – June 12, 2012 << Brand Joseph Lueken passed away unexpectedly while at home last week, June 12, 2013 at the age of 62. His life and contributions will be missed by the Parker community. Brand was born Feb. 19, 1951, in San Diego, Calif., and spent his youth roving up and down the California and Mexico coast as a commercial fisherman, fishing rod artisan and journeyman plumber. After brief careers as a landlord and firewood supplier, he focused on plumbing, and settled down with his wife, Joni Lueken, in Escondido, Calif. There, they raised their son Brandon Lueken, and lived happily for some 15 years. Brand was often found either fishing in the nearby lakes and oceans, or honing his skills as a mechanic in the garage. In 2006, with their son in college, Brand and Joni moved to the Colorado River, looking for a quieter life. After two years in Lake Havasu, they moved to Parker, where they started Hapiface Headquarters, Parker's own local full service computer store. For the past five years, Brand and his wife have served Parker and the surrounding community, bringing them closer to one another and their families. In Parker, Brand could still be found fishing, or working as a general handyman around town. His humor, attention to detail, and love will be missed. He is survived by his wife Joni in Parker; his son Brandon in Seattle, Wash.; his mother Janis in Los Angeles, his father Bill in Cambria, Calif.; and his sisters Julia and Mary in Arkansas and Georgia respectively. His ashes will be scattered in the Colorado River, as per his wishes.
