YARWOOD, Robert Eugene


Yuma Sun, Yuma, Arizona - Published in The Yuma Sun on July 2, 2013 - Robert Eugene Yarwood was born on August 18, 1929 in Yuma, Arizona. His parents were the late Charles Harold and Laura Estel (Smith) Yarwood. Bobby attended high school in Yuma. He was a Deputy Sheriff in Yuma County and then employed as a farm laborer. Bobby and Harold Smith owned and operated the Yuma Meat Company for over 20 years. He was then married to Saralla "Punky" Lattie. They were married for 16 years and were blessed with two children; Robert, Jr. and Rex. On November 6, 1984 Bobby was united in marriage with Sally Brown at Greta Green's Wedding Chapel in Yuma. In 1995, Bobby and Sally made their home in Deer Creek, Minnesota. Bobby enjoyed planting a large garden and tending to his flowers. He also enjoyed wood working, building bird houses and loved watching All-Star Wrestling and the Wheel of Fortune. Bobby passed away peacefully at his home in Deer Creek, MN at 83 years of age with the care of Legacy Hospice. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Preceding Bobby in death were his parents; brother, Harold Yarwood; sisters, Ethel Lackey and Hazel Seamans. Bobby is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sally Yarwood; sons, Robert (Tim Colby) Yarwood II and Rex (Rhonda Yarwood; step-sons, Michael Vondall and Mark Vondall; 2 step-daughters, Sheryll Vondall and Sandy Cope; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 17 step-great-grandchildren; sister, Helen (Louie) Kehl; many other relatives and a host of friends.
