LOONEY, Bill


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Wednesday, July 03, 2013 Bill Looney, 83, was born in Detroit, Mich., and died at home in Dewey, Ariz., on June 29, 2013, with his wife at his side. Bill spent most of his young life in Lexington, Ky., before entering the Navy in 1951. He served 22 years on diesel submarines and retired as CPO-SS from the Submarine Development Group One in San Diego. He was very active with the Masons in La Mesa Lodge No. 407 in La Mesa, Calif., as well as the Submarine League Group in San Diego, Calif. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Lauren; his daughter, Martha Barr; one granddaughter; four great granddaughters, all of Santa Maria, Calif.; and his in-laws, nephews and nieces. He will be dearly missed by his two puppies, Misce and Hady, as well. As per the family wishes, there will be no ceremony or flowers. Cremation provided by Biological Resource Center of Phoenix.
