Clara Mae Mosley, formerly of Prescott, Ariz., went to be with the Lord and her loving husband of 63 years, Woodrow (Woody), whom she had missed so greatly, on June 30, 2013, at the age of 93. Her last three years of life, she displayed great strength, finally succumbing to pancreatic cancer.
Clara was born in Beebe, Ark., on Dec. 18, 1919, to Frank and Bertha Manasco. She is one of three girls and five boys. She and her husband moved to Winslow, Ariz., in 1946. In 1954 they moved to Prescott, where they finished raising their family and retired.
Clara loved flowers and gardening. She truly had a green thumb and could save and help any plant or flower thrive. She also will be remembered for loving to have her entire family together for holidays and meals. She was an excellent cook bringing the Southern cooking she grew up with to Arizona with her. Her sweet potatoes were like none other, yet many others will attempt to replicate them. She loved to iron, sew and crochet. She loved having family visit and had a sense of humor about her that would astonish and make everyone laugh. She also loved old country music and could tell you who the artist was after just a few words were sung.
She is survived by brother John Manasco of Arkansas; daughters Johnny Ray of Sun City, Ariz., and Marjorie Giebel of Phoenix, Ariz.; and sons Buddy (Mary Jo) of Fayetteville, Ark., and Jim (Anita) of Buckeye, Ariz.
