The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 07/05/2013 Michael Andrew Peña, 29, went to be with the Lord June 28, 2013. He was born Dec. 21, 1983, in Springerville, the son of Donna Peña and Mario Peña. He was a firefighter with the U.S. Forest Service and worked with Helitack. He loved playing baseball, camping, family and hanging out with his friends. He loved life to the fullest and will be truly missed. “We love you Michael!” Michael is survived by his mother Donna Peña; brothers: Gabriel and Patrick Peña; stepdad (Pops) Lolo Hernandez; grandparents Richard and Sophie Peña of Springerville, Teddy Peña of Los Lunas, N.M.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Michael was preceded in death by his dad Mario Pena; grandmother Mary Baca; godfather Robert Gomez and his great-grandparents. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, July 5. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 6, at St. Peters Catholic Church. Graveside services will follow at Springerville Cemetery.
