Ira (Joe) Driskill II, 77, of Riverside, Calif., died Saturday, June 29, 2013.
Known by most as Joe, he was born to Ira Joe and Willette Driskill Jan. 4, 1936, in San Antonio, Texas.
Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Los Angeles where Joe spent his youth.
The eldest of seven children, he began working to support the family at an early age.
Joe attained a degree in mechanical engineering and worked in the aerospace industry. He retired from Rohr Industries in Riverside. He worked on various projects as a consultant that took him many places across the United States.
During his life he was many things: father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, mentor, counselor, painter, coach, set/prop maker, confidant and a great teacher.
A longtime resident of Riverside, Calif., Joe and Deloris moved to Prescott, Ariz., to help raise their grandchildren, Joey and Janae. They stayed for 10 years before moving back to Riverside.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Deloris; two children, Joe Driskill of Prescott and Janice Vance of Riverside; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He will be greatly missed by all.
